This week and next I'll be doing my last set of edits on Who Glares Wins and Command Indecision (books 2 and 3 in the Lexi series) before they go to my editor. I'm really excited that they'll be out soon and I hope you're looking forward to them too. Sales for Armed & Fabulous have been phenomenal right from day one and I know from emails and tweets and Facebook messages that you guys want these books. Now. In more news on those titles, I've booked the cover designer and can't wait to see what she comes up with. Originally I planned Lexi's story as a trilogy but she's so much fun that there will be more after these. More on that in a minute.
A little Stella news. Magic Rising has also been received very happily, I'm delighted to say. I'm also waiting on paperback proofs for Unruly Magic and Devious Magic. I know I need to get working on book 5 in this series because I've already been asked by a number of readers! I've maintained that this will be a six-book series so I need to plot books 5 and 6 to make sure that I can fit everything in (otherwise it will end up being 7) - Stella has a lot to do and a certain person she needs to help. (You know who I mean!) I know what the ending will be... there's just 170,000 words between then and now. :-D I'd love to write some short stories in this series but I'm waiting for a really fun idea to pop into my head. Stella has been with me for three years now and it's strange to be plotting the closing story arc.
So, my next writing project will either be Stella 5 or Lexi 4, both untitled as of yet. Also, in my head are other ideas that I very much want to do. There's a fun urban fantasy/romance series, a single-title urban/romantic suspense, and a gritty urban fantasy. All of them want to be written now but I only have so many hours in the day. The smart thing to do would be to write Stella 5, then Lexi 4, then Stella 6, then Lexi 5, and only then start a new series, but, gosh, I wish I could write them all at the same time and I'm not sure if I can hold off! At least I'm having fun plotting them and getting to know my future characters. Realistically, with everything I have planned, I've got my workload direction for the rest of 2012 and straight through 2013.
Thanks for joining me for this rambly thought splurge. I hope it catches you up to where I am and what you can look forward to!
Listening to: Ladyhawke.
Watching: Snow White and the Huntsmen (I was reliably informed Chris Hemsworth takes his shirt off. It was a lie.)
